NDAIDS non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are the mainstay of drug treatment for OA knee.  There are dozens of meds in this group. Here are some commoner ones.
Nsaids are associated with gastric upset and may be taken with a stomach - protecting medication, prescribed by the doctor who is treating the arthritis.
The Cox-2 drugs are limited by suspicions of heart disease problems.
